The Cloudspire Chronicle!
1 Hahler Cloudspire's Foremost News Authority! ~ est. 908 A.C. 1 Nitumus 984
SPECIAL EXTENDED EDITION
Oiviscal Fractured
by Suban Gordon
The battles were many, and the outcome bloody, but a tentative peace has finally been achieved. Oiviscal Peninsula is not host to three separate nations that will be forced to accept the presence of the others in the years to come.
The widely unknown nation of Dusk Haven has successfully claimed the Southeastern end of the region, fortifying their position with a seemingly endless supply of undead servants.
In the Northwest, the Righteous Trinity of the Fell Lands have staked their claim, leaving legions of men and women in and around Trinity Keep.
The original citizens of Oiviscal have retreated to the West, taking refuge near the shores of the sea behind high mountain passes. Now, all three must learn to live together, as both warring factions, and the original inhabitants, must share the only Eye of the Sun within two weeks travel by foot, inside the sundered city of Sunfield.
Reports from inside sources indicate that both the enemy factions intend to split not just Sunfield, but the entire region in half, constructing and manning their own wall to extend from one shore to the other.
The Chronicle has learned that this wall will sit on both sides of the road from Old Oiviscal, all the way to Sunfield, and across the plains.
Without revealing the specifics, the Chronicle has learned that the mysterious queen of the tiny nation was herself in Cloudspire mere days before the outbreak of war. My sources indicate that she was callous and aloof, worrying little for the citizens of Cloudspire while rioters looted in the streets in her name.
It should come as no surprise then that the great warlord, Lord Bucalerio, was also seen inside the city. Thanks to its extensive network of contacts, the Chronicle was able to secure a short interview with the commanding officer of the Righteous Trinity of the Fell Lands. By all accounts, he too was indifferent to the accusations of inciting riots, and failing to protect our citizens.
Shortly thereafter, both parties were asked to depart quietly, leaving behind only a small group to petition on their behalf. There is no indication that they failed to comply.
Sunfield in Ruins

by Libius Nelo
For weeks, the armies of the Righteous Trinity and Dusk Haven fought for ground in and around the ruined city of Sunfield. With the citizens of Cloudspire becoming ever more involved, and at risk, the council decided to end the conflict as quickly as possible.
After nearly three weeks of intense war, it was declared that the Keepers of the Eye would open the Eye of the Sun to Sunfield at sunset, and whoever was in control of the eye at that time, a willing diplomat at the ready, would be recognized as the rightful owner of the site.
To the amazement of many, no single force was able to gain absolute control, and the Keepers of the Eye declared both sides a victor, on the grounds that no further conflict ensue, or both sides would lose the right.
Debate still rages in the houses of the council, as to whether or not this was a sound decision, leaving Oiviscal permanently sundered. The state of the council these days leans towards blame in regards to late action and inaction on the part of Cloudspire and its leading citizens.

Fell Still Volatile Region
by Sachlon Bernadol
It has been confirmed that Lord Bucalerio of Holy Trinity fame has suffered an attack on his lands during his absence in Oiviscal, losing much of his peasantry to raiders that have materialized from the Southern jungle territory.
The foreign lord had this to say, "I will personally find and kill these agents of evil."
Lord Middleton of the Tourlot House, and Baron of Seawall, is the only lord in the region that has not suffered any attacks. Lord Sigrud, formally a knight of the Ceatee, now a lord of the Holy Trinity, suffered no casualties when he too was attacked, thanks in part due to swift action. Even though he was present on the battle field he was unable to capture or kill any of the raiders.
Thanks to the opening of an old Eye in the region, reports have come out quickly. It has been learned that other lords, some of Iskont Province, have also suffered attacks, and a new settlement of dwarves closely related to Do'rek was also attacked, resulting in a terrible massacre.
The council of Cloudspire has vowed to assist their brothers in this time of sorrow.
War Falls on the Fell?
by Phil Fernheart
An recent attack on Flan land apparently has nothing to do with the marauders who are currently stalking the jungles. It is believed that a low ranking knight and his men at arms were slaughtered in an uninhabited valley save for the outpost.
This reporter can confirm the presence of an army of orcish families have been spotted moving into the central jungle. Contact with the families was peaceful, and they adamantly stated that they had no part in killing of any dwarves or other humanoid races in the region. They went on to explain that they had to collectively move on short notice due to a their sudden eviction at the hands of giants, whom previously they had peacefully coexisted with.
Despite his own losses recently, Lord Bucalerio stated that he has spoken to his new neighbours, and that his current objective is to kill the marauders that have attacked his peasants, not start another unwanted conflict. However, from the reaction of his men at arms it is clear that he is not thrilled about the orcs.
