HouseRules

Only house rules that are standard throughout the campaign are listed here. Game masters are free to use whatever additional house rules they see fit.

Carrying Capacity

Change: Reduce the multipliers for a light or heavy load by half.

Constitution and Hit Points by Level

Change: characters gain access to a battery of unique powers called Aelrosian Resolve (.pdf). These powers enhance the survivability of all characters, and their usage is limited by Constitution modifier.

Deities

Change: Path of the Nomad uses custom deities.

Experience

Change: Path of the Nomad uses its own custom experience scale, found here.

Economy

Change: Path of the Nomad uses its own custom economy, found here.

Epic Destinies

Change: Due to the extreme power inherent in epic destinies in general, and what each one represents in terms of the game world, the only Epic Destiny open to players is the Eternal Seeker.

Intelligence and Skills/Languages

Change: All characters may choose an additional number of languages known equal to their intelligence modifier (including Supernal and Abyssal).

Additionally, a set of secondary skills exist that allow characters to flesh out their background. These are 100% optional to both players and game masters.

Item Set Limitations

Change: Ignore the errata for item sets that places a limitation on the number of item sets usable at the same time. You may gain the benefits of any number of item sets at the same time.

Multiclass Feats

Change: Additional Path of the Nomad multi-class feats are available. These feats are generally more powerful than their original counterparts, though the originals are still available. The new ones can be found here

Prestidigitation (Wizard Cantrip)

Change: The effects of this power that would normally last 1 hour are instantaneous, and do not have durations. The effect ends when it is forcibly ended by another element, or additional use of prestidigitation, such as scrubbing off a mark made by the power.

Purchasing Magic Items

Change: Prior to any game, a character may freely purchase any heroic tier item, or any items of any tier offered by their sponsor (if any). Paragon and Epic tier items must be purchased in game.

Quests

Addition: Characters are restricted in their play time in a unique way called quest slots.

Retraining

Change: In addition to the normal retraining rules, characters may potentially retrain class features when new content is released. When a new book is added to the list of campaign resources, be it under review or otherwise, a character may retrain into content from that book (including class features).

Selling Items

Change: all items sell for half value. Gems and coins are worth full value.
Special: this house rule is not in fact mandatory, but more of a universally applied guideline, as local market conditions in a given region might dictate different values for goods.
