Campaign Setting For Players For Game Masters Help |
Main /
ExperiencePath of the Nomad experience progression uses the following model, rather than the one presented in the PHB. The reason this progression is used is because the campaign uses standardized experience, a mechanic that is completely invalidated by the progression presented in the PHB. That is to say, it would take too long to level via the original values with a static experience gain. This remedies that.
Assuming a character is played in one game every week, and receives completely standard experience rewards, they should achieve level 11 after six months, level 21 after 1.5 years, and level 30 after just under 3 years.
MentoringIt is possible for a character to exceed the predetermined leveling speed by receiving experience from a mentor. At the end of any game, a character may opt to donate anywhere from zero to one-hundred percent of their experience gained to another player at the game, provided the recipient is at least two levels below them. The experience gain of the mentor is reduced by an amount equal to the amount donated. There is no limit to the amount of experience a character can receive from mentors in a single game, and may have more than one mentor. The net experience gain for the party should be exactly the same. This transfer of experience must be recorded on the log sheets of both the mentor and the recipient, including who received/donated how much experience. |
